“Back in 1996, we all saw Michael Jordan to first showcase these Jordan XI’s in the movie “Space Jam”, while he went on to defeat monsters in the movie. Although the movie released in 1996, a Retro Air Jordan 11 Space Jam did not release until December 13th 2000. Back in 1996, rumor has it 6 pairs were produced of the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam in 1995-96, all in MJ’s personal size. Now before Nike decided to release these in 2000, earlier in that year they made this sample pair, featuring the #45, instead of Jordan’s traditional #23. MJ, didn’t approve of the #45 to be printed on the shoes being released, so these samples were immediately scrapped and to be released with #23. Produced in extremely limited quantities, and only produced in Mens size 9, and toddler size.”
